Role
Motion Designer / Animator
Overview
Among my freelance work, I created a set of animated screens for a Twitch streamer to give their live channel a cohesive and polished visual identity.
First, my client and I met to discuss their goals. They wanted three animated clips for different livestream scenarios:
Intro: shown while the streamer prepares to start the livestream.
Be Right Back: shown when the streamer steps away mid-stream.
Outro: shown as the streamer wraps up the session.
I then created an initial mood board to interpret the client's personality, content style, and overall brand tone.
Building off the client mood-board and using descriptors they provided, I developed a project-specific mood-board to translate their goals into a concrete visual and motion direction. This board explores animation style and texture that could be applied consistently across all 3 screens.
I explored multiple compositions and motion approaches for each screen, using sketches to test layout and included reference photos.
Intro & Outro Screens
I sketched many ideas, including motion with clouds, branches and bugs. I ultimately landed on a short and sweet wing animation of a moth.
After consulting with the client, we decided the 'Outro' would mimic the 'Intro' with a similar style and a more night-like tone.
Be Right Back Screen
For this screen, I sketched and studied the motion of caterpillars moving and their leaf-bite patterns.
After sketching, I translated the concepts into clean outlines in Procreate and transferred the assets into Adobe Animate to map and refine the motion.
Final Design
The final designs translate the project’s visual system into three looping animations that support different moments of the live stream. Together, the intro, BRB, and outro screens create a cohesive and engaging experience while maintaining clarity and readability.

Reflection
This project reinforced my interest in motion as a tool for shaping atmosphere within digital spaces. Designing subtle, looping animations pushed me to think carefully about pacing, hierarchy, and visual restraint. I gained a deeper understanding of how small moments of motion can meaningfully enhance a viewer’s experience.
